Conserving the Southwestern Amazon through Sustainable Forestry

New York, NY, United States of America

over 1 year
2009
Project Locations:
Peru, Bolivia
Project Goals:

To advocate for and reinforce progressive forestry policy, and to champion market-based sustainability practices in Bolivia and Peru. Rainforest Alliance promotes and improves the policy environment for implementation of certification processes in small landholdings, provides technical assistance to forestry communities and small landholders, and fosters market linkages for non-timber forest products and lesser-known timber species. The Alliance's work in these two countries will help ensure the conservation of critical landscapes and aid communities to gain economic benefits from certification.
