Project Goals:

This grant supports Columbia University's Center for Environmental Reforestation and Conservation's (CERC) efforts to mainstream the incentive structures and legal frameworks for family forestry in the Amazonia Region of Peru. Regional authorities have acknowledged that their field personnel are inadequately prepared to implement and enforce natural resource policies without additional training in the technical and legal concepts of family forestry. CERC will present three sets of training courses and demonstration activities over a 12-month period to rural district authorities, members of their technical crews and rural extension agents.
