Project Goals: 

To increase the understanding and use of standards and teacher self-evaluation practices to improve literacy instruction in Argentina. In 2007, the Tinker Foundation awarded a grant to FundaciĆ³n Leer to develop standards for literacy instruction in public primary schools. This follow-up grant aids the organization to follow through on the previous work by developing publications of the standards and indicators already developed, creating two distance learning courses, and encouraging educational authorities, school directors and business leaders to promote and facilitate the adoption and use of the said standards.
