This grant supports the promotion of pro bono work as a tool to improve access to justice in Latin America. Funds will be used to convene law firms, law schools, bar associations and non-governmental organizations in an international conference to chart the future course of the pro bono movement in Latin America. Participants will identify conditions for success and the degree of consolidation of pro bono work across countries, develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by each country in expanding access to justice, and discuss emerging pro bono issues on a regional scale.
