Project Goals:

To support the efforts of the Center for Global Development to increase access to financial services for the poor in Latin America. CGD works on the premise that access to appropriate financial services, including savings, credit, insurance and investment instruments, is necessary to lift families out of poverty and to improve the stability of businesses. Focusing on Brazil and Mexico, the organization will conduct assessments of financial access innovations in both countries, hold meetings with experts to review and discuss the initial results of the assessments, and disseminate recommendations to government officials, policy makers and donors.
