2011
Project Location:
Colombia
Project Goals:

This grant will support AlvarAlice to initiate a field-tested work-preparedness program for at-risk youth at the Somos Pacificos Community Center in Cali. The training program will be based on the entra21 initiative, developed by the International Youth Foundation and shown to be successful in many areas across Latin America. Entra21 features comprehensive training in life and technical skills as dictated by the needs of the labor market.

The grant will be used to set-up the program at Somos Pacificos, train local educators in entra21 methods and provide necessary IT equipment. IYF personnel will work with the Center staff for the first year to ensure that the programs are meeting the needs of this specific community.
