Strengthening the Pro Bono Lawyers Network

With the goal of improving access to justice across Latin America, the Foundation is supporting several related initiatives to expand the practice of pro bono volunteerism in the legal profession. This grant to Fundación Poder Ciudadano supports their efforts in Argentina to establish partnerships with law firms, law schools, non-governmental organizations and government agencies to launch a pro bono clearinghouse, which will serve as a centralized database for referrals. They will provide legal assessment, referrals and pro bono legal assistance to low-income individuals, as well as pursue public interest cases in which public policy can be affected.
