Tracking Democracy Blog

Recently included in the top ten list of the Global Go-To Think Tank Index, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) received a two-year grant in 2010 to undertake a comprehensive analysis of political developments in Mexico in the lead-up to the 2012 presidential election. Their blog, Tracking Democracy in a Time of Uncertainty, has become a key resource for policy makers in the U.S. working to understand the ramifications of these elections.

CSIS researchers are providing analysis of the presidential candidates within the main political parties (the PRI, PAN and PRD), examining gubernatorial elections and their potential impact on the 2012 federal election, and presenting public opinion research exploring reactions to candidates and party platforms. Of particular focus are issues central to Mexico's bilateral relationship with the United States including immigration, security, and trade.
